USCIS Immigration Forms Specialists
What is an Immigration Forms Specialist (IFS)?

Does USCIS Recognize IFS as Legitimate Professionals?
USCIS acknowledges the role of Immigration Forms Specialists in assisting with paperwork. However, IFS professionals are not attorneys or accredited representatives. They cannot provide legal advice or represent clients. While USCIS accepts that IFS can help with form preparation and submission, IFS must adhere to specific limitations to comply with legal and ethical standards.
What Forms Do IFS Assist Clients With?
Immigration Forms Specialists assist with a variety of immigration forms, including:
- Form I-90: Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card
- Form N-400: Application for Naturalization
- Form I-130: Petition for Alien Relative
- Form I-485: Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status
- Form I-765: Application for Employment Authorization
- Form I-589: Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal

Why Do We Use IFS?
What Services Are IFS Not Allowed to Perform?
Immigration Forms Specialists cannot provide the following services:

- Represent clients at immigration hearings or legal proceedings
IFS professionals are limited to assisting with form completion and paperwork, and they cannot interpret the law or provide personalized legal guidance.
